Who is the ALPHA-H Liquid Gold Exfoliating Treatment for?

This product suits normal, dry, combination and oily skin, which covers most skin types you'll come across. Reach for it if you want a visibly clearer, less dull complexion, with fewer signs of pigmentation or blackheads. It also suits you if you want to work on enlarged pores, fine lines or wrinkles.

How do you use the ALPHA-H Liquid Gold Exfoliating Treatment?

Cleanse your face first, then apply Liquid Gold with a cotton pad or clean fingertips. Use the product every other day, and only in the evening, so never on consecutive nights. A slight tingling feeling after applying it is a normal reaction and fades within a few minutes.

Leave Liquid Gold to work on its own: another product afterwards reduces the effect. Only follow with a night cream if you have sensitive or very dry skin, and only after it has absorbed for at least 15 minutes.

Glycolic acid makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Always combine Liquid Gold with a day cream that offers sun protection.

Active ingredients

Glycolic Acid (5%). Glycolic acid is an AHA, an alpha hydroxy acid, that loosens the bond between dead skin cells. Of all the AHAs, glycolic acid has the smallest molecule size, so it penetrates the skin easily. That leaves skin looking smoother with a more even tone, and pores stay clearer with regular use. Glycolic acid also supports skin elasticity, so fine lines become visibly less noticeable.

Licorice Root Extract (Glycyrrhiza Glabra). Licorice, Glycyrrhiza glabra in Latin, is a plant extract long used to calm the skin. It contributes to a calmer-looking, more even complexion.

Hydrolyzed Silk (Silk Proteins). Silk proteins are proteins extracted from the cocoon of the silkworm. They give the formula a soft, supple finish on the skin.

'Overnight facial' isn't an official ALPHA-H name, but a nickname Olivida uses for Liquid Gold. You apply the product only in the evening, after which the peel works through the night while you sleep.

What's the difference between the Liquid Gold Exfoliating Treatment and Liquid Gold + Vitamin C?

Both contain 5% glycolic acid in a 100 ml bottle. The Liquid Gold + Vitamin C adds vitamin C, as ethyl ascorbic acid, which this Exfoliating Treatment doesn't contain. The vitamin C in that variant is there for a brighter, more even complexion. The usage advice also differs. You use the Exfoliating Treatment every other day, while the Vitamin C version is used a maximum of 3 times a week.
