Step 1: The Basics - Use a Cleanser
Before you go all out with concealer, it's important to take good care of your skin as a base. Start by thoroughly cleansing with a mild cleanser. This removes dirt and unclogs pores. It also disinfects the area where the breakout is. Ready for step 2?

Bye pimple! - Even out with foundation
Before you decide what makeup to use, it's important to know what type of pimple you're dealing with. For example, you might have a whitehead , cystic acne , or a recovering pimple .
Whiteheads
A pimple with a white head is easiest to conceal. Use a firm concealer stick . A thin formula won't work in this case because it's harder to adhere to the skin. Thin formulas are more suitable for under-eye areas or red spots.
Try to work as cleanly as possible. Preferably not with your fingers, but with a thin, clean brush. Apply the concealer only to the area of the pimple. If you go beyond the area, you risk making it more visible. You don't want that!
Cystic acne
If you suffer from cystic acne, you've probably noticed how difficult it is to conceal. Red patches are often visible on the face, and the skin has a bumpy texture. This is why your makeup base requires a little more effort.
Use a regular, water-based foundation. This gives your skin a chance to breathe and prevents inflammation. When buying foundation, make sure it's non-comedogenic. You can consult a good perfumery or a Vigasist for advice on the right foundation.
Next, you can dab any visible red spots with a green concealer, as the green color absorbs redness. Then apply a concealer in your own color. The formula can be a bit thinner in this case to prevent a cakey effect. A little mineral powder on top and you're good to go!
Healing pimple
Did you accidentally pop a pimple? It's important not to apply makeup to an open wound. Wait at least a day for a scab to form. Try to care for the wound well with a cream specifically designed for this purpose. Keeping the wound hydrated will help it heal faster.
If you haven't squeezed the pimple, flakes will eventually form as it dries. You can gently scrub these away and keep it moisturized. This will make your makeup base look much smoother. Next, use a concealer with a thin formula and light coverage. Thick, high-coverage formulas can actually make the blemish stand out more.
